All new clients receive a comprehensive language and literacy assessment to build a profile of their skills and to identify areas to target in therapy. An initial assessment may take between 75 to 90 minutes depending on the age of the student. A range of standardised and informal assessment tools are used. A full written report is provided following the assessment as well as a follow up phone call to discuss findings, goals and answer any questions.

Intervention is usually delivered in weekly individual sessions lasting 45 to 60 minutes during the school term. Therapy is conducted in the Hunters Hill Clinic and there is also the option for a school based service for some students. Online therapy may also be an option. Discussion and collaboration with other professionals such as the educators involved in the student’s learning is also provided.
